Falling Sky is a title sequence capturing innocence and communicating an evolving narrative.
︎︎︎ THE PROBLEM
While watching a title sequence by Studio Ghibli I feel the innocence in the film and am successfully persuaded to commit to the movie. How can I capture an audience as they do?

︎︎︎ THE GOAL
Falling Sky aims to tell a sentimental narrative while capturing the overall mood of the movie. I was inspired by the unmoving background patterns used in Cartoon Network’s TV series Chowder and transition techniques by Studio Ghibli.

︎︎︎ THE SOLUTION
Through an evolution of dark to light watercolor backgrounds, the title sequence hints at the movie’s transforming mood. The animated sketches communicate innocence while its variety in animation maintains the audience’s attention
